Rose’s pound cake. The one that has the butter modified considering the water content.

It looks absolutely perfect

I have been making the banana bread in Crust And Crumb most often. However, since I found Rose’s recipes, I have only made that banana bread once. I think my new favorite is the apple crumb bread in TBB. 

I think I am going to try to substitute blueberries for the apples next time I make it. It is offered as a variation in the layer cake version in RHC

Hands down Rose’s All Occasion Downey Yellow Butter Cake.  That seems to be the only cake I have been requested to make.  Everyone loves it. My favorite chocolate cake is Rose’s Deep Passion Chocolate cake.  Love it, love it, love it.  It is so so moist, even cold out of the fridge.  But alas, every order I have made has been the All Occasion Downey Yellow Butter Cake. (don’t get me wrong, it is heavenly as well)  I guess people want a neutral flavor to please everyone at their party.  I don’t know,  I always thought chocolate was a neutral flavor.

Me, too!  It does seem that the only time I get to make a chocolate cake is for family- for events, it’s always something else!

I’ve got to try this cake with all the recommendations on this thread.  Which is your favorite frosting to use on this cake?

Bread and Chocolate Oblivion. The bread is for us, and all friends ask whether I can make that unbelievably good chocolate cake when they get to have a wish for a dessert to bring along.
