Well thank you so much for all your help and support.  Turns out the cake was relatively easy to do.  I am happy how it came out.  I think it’s cute.  It was well received and all but one piece gobbled up! Sugar webs are made from sugar syrup brought to hard crack….

Thank you so much.  I don’t do enough cakes so get nervous about them when I do them.  the mouse and leaves are fondant and gumpaste.  I kind of wished I would have done up a cakeboard and used some grass tip, pumpkins, etc.  However, it is what it is and it’s cute.  I tried to post a rear view but couldn’t get it to post.  It’s just a big spun sugar web with a gummy spider.  Thank you so much.  I appreciate the compliments more than you know! Oh and I made the branch piece that held the mouse with rice krispies and marshmallow….

Congratualtions, great looking cake!  I love the mouse with his treasure of candy corn.  For someone who doesn’t do cakes very often, you sure do them well.

You guys are so good for my ego…. LOL!  I spread the Pastry Pride on, texturized it and let it set overnight.  Then airbrushed just enough to give it some color.

That is a VERY cute looking cake!!  I haven’t tried working with sugar that way yet but I don’t think it would work so well with our humidity anyway.  And the colours and leaves are a fantastic complement.

pat, glad your cake turned well.  I always thought your idea was wonderful:  to make a traditional chocolate tree log out of pumpkin flavor and color!
