Fa Gao aka Prosperity cake is eaten during celebration of the Chinese New year.  I know Chinese New Year is not ‘til January.  But I am just learning and practicing for now.  It is easy.  Simply steamed sponge cake that has coconut milk(optional) and rice flour in it.  I could also add pureed sweet potatoes, but I did not do that for now.  It is a mildly sweet.  These are suppose to “bloom or smile ” on top like a flower.

My husband has been to China and Japan. I’ve got to show him your cake. He knows some words, such as milk. He would love your cake with a cold glass of milk.

Yes, I have been to mostly all Asian countries and they are very different from eachother, although they are all “neighbors”. Japan is beautiful.

Not heard of fried sushi grin Japanese food is very, very simple and very easy to prepare, compared to Chinese, Filipino and Indonesian.

And their cuisine is very healthful. Their stats on morbidity and mortality are enviable until they come to the USA. Once they adopt our “SAD” diet, the diseases they acquire are comparable to US citizens.
