I was so curious about how to make bagels so I tried it tonight. We had Bagels for dinner, complete w/ butter .. Bread is not really my thing to bake. I am more of a fancy dessert and cakes person.
I am SO happy with the out come that I want to make more tomorrow.. It is very soft in the inside the slightly crunchy on the outside.
I used unbleached flour. It only took about 1 hour and 15 mins from the mixing to out from the oven to the table.
I added a hint of Vanilla although the recipe did not call for it. Most recipes suggest to flip them during baking and bake for another 10 mins.
I did not flip them, they came out just as good.
Now I know how to make Bagels, Brioche and Croissants,, I’m so happy. I feel like I have achieved something.
