I had success using the method of sliding the tines down, back out, then going from a different angle, then repeat until you have a ‘division’ of a slice. My understanding is you’re not so much slicing as separating and slightly ‘tearing’ the crumb apart. Most folks prefer the serrated knife.

I never push down when slicing. I let the serrated knife do all the work. I like a clean sharp edge not one that look like a tornado went thru it or something that was rip apart.  I had one of these cutters but never used it. Thanks for sharing.

It sounds a bit complicated.
What can be the advantage of using a comb?
