DIDEM:
Good morning. Welcome to our culinary club. I revieved your cookie site & I enjoyed it very much. Well done.
I copied the Rugelach cookie recipe. I have only tasted a few very recently & I enjoyed them..from a local bakery. They were gifted to me by friends. I was thinking of doing this recipe but adding either a prune/orange mixture or a fig orange/chopped up choclate mixture to it. Sometimes my culinary imagination runs wild. What do you think???.
I enjoyed posting with you today. Enjoy the rest of the day young lady.

Hi Freshkid! It’s nice to hear from you again!

The “Tuesdays with Dorie” group was baking Rugelach back at the beginning of November and there were lots and lots of variations. Some people even made savory rugelach. These little guys lend themselves well to almost any filling, and many kinds of shaping. Just don’t add too much filling, or it oozes out all over the place instead of staying (mostly) inside. Really runny fillings are a bad idea, too.

Here’s a link to the listing of all the members of Tuesdays with Dorie. The Rugelach results were supposed to be posted on each person’s site on November 4, 2008, although sometimes folks post earlier or later.

By the way, Dorie Greenspan’s recipe for Rugelach is fairly similar to Rose’s in “Rose’s Christmas Cookies.”

BUNGALOW BARBARA:
Good afternoon to you my friend. I enjoyed receiving your post. Thank you for alerting me to that site. I do have her baking book
& I think it is an excellent book for recipes. The only book I do not have of Miss Rose is the cookie book. However I have a general idea of this recipe & then it is up to me to experiment with it till I get what I think I want. All this is what keeps me alive along with the my stock market trading. I am more busy now than when I was younger & working for my living. I look forward to be posting with you in the future.
Good luck to you from Las Vegas, Nv. Enjoy the rest of the day.
