Inauguration Recipes

The cinnamon apple sponge cake sounded good on the menu, but when I read the recipe, it is not a cake, but a bread pudding.  I wonder if these are really the recipes they are using or if they have been simplified for home cooks.

Menu sounds lovely, wonder if they will continue to post Presidential recipes?  It is a little strange to call that a sponge cake, there’s no cake in it at all!  Perhaps you are right, it may be simplified for the home cook, the substitutions listed (“OK to substitute chicken for pheasant”) seem to suggest that is the case.

matthew, thx for sharing.  I don’t get involved in politics at all, but the White House chefs better learn some local Hawaii recipes!!!
