This is my Hearth Bread which I made last week after purchasing the Bread Bible.  It is probably not the best example of one of Rose’s breads but I was happy with it and it tasted good!  I have also made the Banana Feather Bread twice, because it was so good and the crumpets to please my OH!  I hope to be posting more pictures soon. tongue rolleye

Congratulations! It looks wonderful!
I just love Rose’s books.  She makes learning easy and fun.
I haven’t tried the banana feather bread yet… I’ll do that next. Thanks for the tip!

looks good and great oven spring!

a little dimpling on the top crust,  suspect from slashing the bread or from overrising.  I am not a slashing expert, but Luca is!  he uses a olive oiled paring knife.

thanks rachel.  I used a small silicone spatula to draw the petals, much easier than a brush.

next I like to make the cake part with the chocolate oblivion baked on an egg shaped pan, would be sinfully great, but also save time since the oblivion is much faster to make.

regarding the caramel pine tree branches that is reserved for very special ocassions!

hope you visit the blog entry ‘Hector’s Yellow Roses’ is my current project to finalize this Saturday!

OOOOh, that is such a neat idea; as i have been having problems with my lashing. The next time i will dip the sharpest knife in oil before doing the cuts in my bread. All this time i have been using a one-sided razor blade and it does not do the trick.

Thanks.
