Hi all,

Here is my latest cake. I ran out of time decorating this so it’s not quite what I wanted when I started making this but sometimes stuff happens. Overall, it was success. Everyone at the baby shower loved the cake so I’m happy with that.

Well here it is:

Great job Matthew! I like the height of the cake.

I love it!  Are the fish made from fondant?  And what flavor is the mousseline?  Interesting that you were able to get such a nice blue from the ivory-based buttercream!

Hi everybody,

Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate it. Julie, just as you thought, the fish were made out of fondant. The frosting was the mousseline buttercream. At first it seemed to have a bit of a green tint to it but I added a little more blue and then it came out right.

Beautiful cake! I can never get that wonderful pastel shade of blue. Did you use Wilton gel color for it?
