What are you 3 favorite kitchen tools?  (Could be anything, utensils, appliances, countertop (LOL) anything!)

1) My KitchenAid mixer. It has made my baking experience so much easier!! 
2) My handheld chopper- I HATE choping garlic and onions and this makes it so much easier.
3) My Electric Griddle- its huge and can hold eggs, bacon, sausage, AND pancakes at the same time. ANd its nonstick, so it never gets messy!!

Only 3???  I could give you 3 for each sub category!

Okay, I’ll try…
1 - My splurge nickle plated KitchenAid - it makes me smile every time I look at it. 
2 - My 12qt All-Clad stock pot - I use it no less than 5 times a week, and I’m sure it will still be preforming as well 50 or 60 years from now.
3 - My huge cherry and walnut cutting board.  I had it made by the guy who makes a lot of the cutting boards on Food Network.  I use it several times a day, everyday.  I will never regret buying it.

1: my microplane grater. i just love it.
2: silicone spatula from pampered chef. it’s perfect every time and never curls and never falls apart in the bowl. i’m sure my father’s dogs will eat it now that i’ve said it.
3. my computer-i can find any recipe, ingredient or solution online and it makes life easy!

Great answers Jen.  Funny you should mention the PC spatulas… I just got done uploading a photo of them for my blog - they’re the BEST!

its interesting to see how many people have the ‘same’ answers. basically gives me an idea on what the good products are!!

#1. My Chinese cleaver. I paid two dollars for it at a yard sale in the late 70’s. It holds a razor sharp edge better and longer than any of my Henkels, Globals, and Sabatiers. Did I mention I paid $2 for it?
#2. My Gaggenau oven. What did I ever do without a proofing cycle, rotisserie, and pizza brick?
#3. My home made SuperPeel. Totally a revolution in pizza baking.

1. Yes, once again—the Microplane.
2. Our new stove. Finally something that really works!
3. Our lovely Japanese knives with the laminated “watered-steel” blades.

and #4 and most important of all: My husband who does most of the everyday cooking and dish-washing.

It’s painful to pick just 3!

If I could add a 4th item it would be my garbage disposal

If you couldn’t guess, I grew up (and I’m only 30) without any of these modern kitchen helpers!

I’m hoping to add a Vita-Mix soon to make a Top 5 .

Of these the microplane is the newest, my Kenwood is 36 years old and my Magimix is at least 24 years old.  I look after things!!! LOL !  They all get used regularly by the way.

Microplanes are long, thin zester/graters. Perfect for zesting citrus as they only take off the aromatic peel and non of the bitter white pith. I use them for grating cheese over pastas, and grating ginger and garlic as well. A very handy kitchen tool indeed. I’m surprised you have not heard of them/seen them. They are all the rage these days. You can find them at any kitchen supply store.
