I thought I’d start a new thread for this topic. Let’s pick a cookie from Rose’s book for Mother’s Day.

How about the Chocolate-Pistachio Marzipan Spirals or Mother Bauer’s Buttered Rum Cookies. Any other suggestions?

Anyone who is interested can join in and post the pictures in Show and Tell.

Or did we decide to bake a Charlotte instead?  The Chocolate-Pistachio Marzipan Spirals sound wonderful… good thing I have pistachios in the freezer that precede the recent Salmonella recall.

Wow.  They both look wonderful Rozanne! Either one will be a challenge for me as would the Charlotte.  How fun!  Count me in.

The Charlotte sounds tempting but I don’t think I can do it on that weekend. I have too many things going on. Anyway if everybody else wants to do it, by all means go ahead. I’ll wait for the next bake-off.
How about one for Father’s Day?  smile

Your probably right Rozanne… we’ll be kind of busy that weekend too; better for me to do something more simple like cookies on a holiday weekend.

Why don’t we do the Charlotte thing in 2 weeks?  Anybody who wants to join in can make their Charlotte anytime during the week, when it’s convenient for them, then we can all post our results over the April 25/26 weekend.  How does that sound?

Sounds good to me. Our wedding anniversary is on the 26th of April so that would be perfect!

I might get in the kitchen and bake tomorrow, we’ll see.  After so many years, you don’t go all out for the anniversaries anymore.  We decided we need new pillows, so that will be our gift to one another wink.  Also, we’ll go to a quaint little Italian restaurant for dinner, and if we’re not too stuffed after our meal, we’ll order dessert.

I’d like to try the charlotte and the cookies! I don’t have Rose’s cookie book, though, so I might need someone to share the recipe with me while I save up for the book! wink

I’m traveling over the Charlotte time span, but maybe I can pull one together and add it a week or two later.  I’m in for the Mother’s Day cookies, maybe the brandy snaps? Or the melting moments?  Or the toffee (although that one worries me, I won’t be able to control myself around toffee).

Love the Bake-offs!

PATRINCIA:
Good morning my friend. I thought I would send my ‘HAPPY ANNIVERSITY” sentiment to you & your husband. Wow, 21, years…Patrincia, you must have been born married????.  rolleyes
Enjoy your holiday dinner, I think TIRAMISU is in order for dessert…what do you think????.  Years ago when I was a boy, gelato
or spumoni was the big delight. Anyway let us all know how it all went.
Good luck to both of you & enjoy the weekend my friend.
