Use Flat beater or whisk?

Will someone help me with the recipes in the Cake Bible?

I just got my KitchenAid mixer and it comes with a flat beater, a dough hook and a whisk beater. Is it right that for the cake recipes, we use the flat beater to mix? Do we use the whisk beater for any recipes?

Welcome cherimoya! Most cake recipes use the flat beater. The whisk is used if you want to incorporate air into a mixture like a genoise, whipping cream, egg whites for the mousseline or a meringue.
